TODAY’S CHALLEGES FOR YOU AND ME

Hello dear friends, with each passing of each year, I have reached the point that there isn’t anything that I really want that I cannot get here in Danao. Recently Zamboanga City was attached by the NPA that sent a sly shiver up my back. We once had a helper by the name Gina. At times she acted like she had landed in our front yard in a UFO. No, she wasn’t a space cadet. No, she wasn’t. But she seemed to operate on one brain cell and her reptiles were always the same with, “Yes Uncle Chuck.” I’ve discovered most folks here are addicted to their cell phones or TV soaps or maybe to both. I always suspected that she stayed up late at night with her glued to the tube or she was from Mars.  Beam me up. Do not go for looks; they can deceive.  Do not go for wealth; even that fades away.  Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.  Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Every blessing is a test on our character while every test is a blessing in disguise. When we have challenges, lessons are being taught. When we have blessings, we need to stay humble and give credit to God. Test and blessings form who we are and what we become. The measure of a person is not in how well he prepares for everything to go right, but on how graceful he stands up and moves on when everything goes wrong.

The world looks at chastity and sees repression: a dull and frigid lifestyle that is probably the result of fear or not being able to find a date. “Those poor people living chaste lives. They don’t have a clue what they’re missing. If only someone could berate them from their prudery.”

This may come as a surprise to those who think that chastity and prudery are synonymous, but chastity has nothing to do with having a negative idea of sex. In fact, only the pure of heart are capable of seeing the depth and mystery of sex. For the person who is pure, sex is an unspeakably wonderful gift and the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the foundation of chastity is the dignity of every person and the greatness.

A challenge makes you more responsible. Always remember that life without struggle is a life without success. Do not give up and learn not to quit.
