Russia holds large-scale drills in Middle East

Russia is holding the largest military exercise in the last 20 years in the Far East, in accordance with the order signed by President Putin. The exercise involves more than 130 aircraft and helicopters, 70 warships, boats and submarines of the Pacific Fleet. About 160,000 troops were transferred to the region for the drills.

The main purpose of the exercise is to test the combat readiness of the troops.

The scenario for the exercise is a defensive operation in the region, building the forces of the region with the help of the center and west of the country. Special attention is paid to transport, military, logistics and medical maintenance of the Russian army.

In the near future, Russia plans to increase the annual military budget. It is expected to exceed $100 billion in two years.
