Good morning friends I hope for all of us that the peacemakers put aside their differences and find peace. One big problem here with a tricycle business is how most using a motorcycle that is a piece of cheap junk from China and the maintenance costs really build up fast. Anybody serious about this should likely get the Kawasaki Barako which has the bigger engine and comes from a more reliable manufacturer. Sometimes we are too busy with life, we no longer enjoy where we are going. Take time to stop and smell the flowers, listen to the wind, and admire the glory of the full moon. We never realize the true value of a moment until it just becomes a distant memory. The Republican Party brand appears to be badly damaged in the states. The Philippines started to clear roads blocked by debris on Thursday as it reckoned up the cost of this week’s powerful earthquake, with the death toll rising to at least 158. I understand the Australian military said Saturday it was investigating whether a major bushfire was linked to an explosives training exercise, as firefighters battled blazes that have destroyed or damaged 300 homes. New South Wales State, with about 20 of them uncontained despite Saturday’s cooler weather conditions. Among the major fires was one burning between the towns of Lithgow and Bilpin some 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Sydney, which intensified after burning through 30,000 hectares (74,000 acres) and reportedly destroying some properties. On to the war in Syria, the Syrian air force jets bombarded the eastern city of Deir al-Zor on Friday after heavy overnight clashes and the killing of one of President Bashar al-Assad’s top military intelligence officers, activists said. General Jama’a Jama’a was shot dead on Thursday by snipers in the midst of a battle with rebels including forces linked to al Qaeda. The Indian police feeling their oats last Friday arrested and questioned 33 people aboard a ship operated by a US anti-piracy firm for carrying guns and ammunition in Indian waters without proper permits, reports said. India’s coastguard stopped and detained the ship off the Indian coast on October 12 after discovering the cache of weapons and ammunition, before escorting it to the southern port of Tuticorin.
Government shutdown: why new talks in Congress might avert another one – Congress ended one government shutdown this week, but did it also just set the stage for another shutdown come January? Maybe so. This week’s congressional action, after all, was an exercise in moving the goal posts, not a resolution of the fiscal debate between the parties. And setting up a bipartisan committee to hash things out is no guarantee of reaching the fiscal end zone. Exhibit A is what happened in similar circumstances back in 2011. But things don’t necessarily have to play out that way. Much as gridlock has become the way of life in Washington, nobody views “shutdowns forever” as a viable way forward, either. Getting to yes on a new federal budget hinges on the leaders of the newly formed bipartisan conference committee: Republican Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray of Washington. If the two parties don’t reach a deal and have it approved in the House and Senate by Jan. 15, the next partial shutdown of federal services will begin. The hurdles to a deal are admittedly high
God’s love for us is not a love that exempts us from trials, but rather a love that always sees us through trials. May the peace of the Lord be with you always. Uncle Chuck
