The Philadelphia Experiment

Good day my friends, I remember back in the days of 1955 when I wore my Navy Crackerjack uniform hearing from an older shipmate who been stationed at the Philadelphia Shipyard during the war years. He told me a story that he witnessed from far across the shore line. A story that was unbelievable then as it is today. As he told me his story the hair on back of my neck stood straight up. The Navy conducted an experiment and a navy ship suddenly disappeared with its crew and then reappeared a few moments later. Where it had gone no one knows but some the crew came back seated the steel bulkheads alive, maybe the ship and her crew had gone to hell and then came back. The whole experiment was covered up by the navy brass. Did I believe him you might ask and my answer has to be yes.

The Philadelphia Experiment was a naval military experiment alleged to have been carried out at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA sometime around October 28, 1943. The U.S. Navydestroyer escortUSS Eldridge was claimed to be rendered invisible (or “cloaked“) to enemy devices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au5i1Bw725o

The story is thought to be a hoax. The U.S. Navy maintains that no such experiment was ever conducted, and details of the story contradict well-established facts about the Eldridge itself, as well as commonly accepted physics. (Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Experiment )

Since then I have found myself somewhat interested in the “Philadelphia Experiment,” which was conducted by the U.S. Navy during World War II as one of the three “city projects.” The Manhattan Project, of course, was the development of the atomic bomb. The Philadelphia Experiment supposedly involved the use of magnetism to bend light rays and thus make objects invisible. Legends and sketchy reports have it that objects could be transported from place to place by the use of strong magnetic fields. The Philadelphia Experiment has also been called “Project Rainbow.” A comprehensive search of the Archives has failed to identify records of a Project Rainbow relating to teleportation or making a ship disappear. In the 1940s, the code name RAINBOW was used to refer to the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis. The RAINBOW plans were the war plans to defeat Italy, Germany and Japan. RAINBOW V, the plan in effect on 7 December 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, was the plan the U.S. used to fight the Axis powers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU2QiBynCHo

I understand over the years, the Navy has received innumerable queries about the “Philadelphia Experiment” or “Project” and the alleged role of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in it. The majority of these inquiries are directed to the Office of Naval Research or to the Fourth Naval District in Philadelphia. The frequency of these queries predictably intensifies each time the experiment is mentioned by the popular press, often in a science fiction book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ffhp3COlgY

Curves and Cocktails is an event that allows full figured women to shop amongst vendors who are all “plusfriendly.” The event will be held at the AVEnts Loft 15 W. Mirage. The helpful teen wasn’t responsible for the sound and lighting at the store. That same year Kyle tried out for the wrestling team.
