U.S.-Japan joint military exercise “Keen Sword 2010”

U.S.-Japan joint military exercise in the Pacific Ocean east of Okinawa island, Japan, on December 10, 2010. Keen Sword, a large joint U.S./Japan military exercise held every two years, is evolving away from its Cold War roots.

About 45,000 soldiers, about 60 ships, about 400airplanes from Japan and USA participated in this exercise.Keen Sword 2010, has a purpose showing off deterrent and demonstration to North Korea and China by through this joint military exercise with US-Japan’s strong will, relationship and cooperation. During Exercise, Russian Surveillance aircrafts made a raid on the training zone and drill was stopped at one time.
