South Korea Top Guns expands air defense zone

South Korea expands air defense zone after Chinese move – South Korea on Sunday announced an expansion of its air defense zone following China’s move to establish a similar zone that has been criticized by Beijing’s neighbors. South Korea earlier requested China to redraw its air defense zone because it partly overlaps with South Korea’s but Beijing rejected it. The U.S., Japan and other countries have also protested the Chinese zone. http://news.yahoo.com/skorea-expands-air-defense-zone-chinese-move-105419296.html

South Africa unites in prayer and song for MandelaSouth Africans of all races and religions united in an outpouring of prayer and song for their beloved Nelson Mandela on Sunday, hearing calls to keep his dream of a Rainbow Nation alive. Churches, mosques, temples and synagogues across the country rang out with hymn and homily — a nationwide day of prayer to begin a week of remembrance for the anti-apartheid icon. In a statement Mandela’s family implored this still deeply scarred nation, and people beyond its shores, to “keep his dream alive.” http://news.yahoo.com/world-mourns-south-africa-peace-icon-mandela-043243863.html

Philippines typhoon survivors determined to hope – Super Typhoon Haiyan left more than 7,500 people dead or missing and ruined the homes of about four million others when it tore across some of the Philippines’ poorest fishing and farming communities. A month after the typhoon struck, the battle for survival remains undeniably desperate in squalid towns, where masses of survivors huddle on roads still choked with debris while waiting for noodles, rice, water or other essentials being handed out by relief workers. But the hand-painted message on the banner, hanging above a shop front being repaired on the outskirts of the hard-hit port city of Ormoc, represents a spirit of hope and resilience that resonates throughout the disaster zone. International relief workers, who spend their lives visiting disaster zones around the world, have expressed surprise and admiration at the outwardly jovial determination of the survivors to “bangon”, or rise, again. http://news.yahoo.com/philippines-typhoon-survivors-determined-hope-064404556.html

Words of Wisdom

The Gift of life is something we’re not sure to receive everyday thru our waking hours. So let us never fail to express our love to people we care about in anyway we can and at any chance we’ve got. For once life has stopped we can never show love ever again. And always thank God for another day. God bless you, Uncle Chuck

Ukrainian revolution in full swing

Published on Dec. 2, 2013

The Ukrainian opposition siege the government building. A human chain of protesters blocked the entrance to the Cabinet of Ministers. The people do not let officials enter the building, but the ministers do not really rush to their offices. Several thousands of people can be seen in the area of the governmental quarters in Kiev; the riot police do not touch anyone. The Ukrainians demand the resignation of the government and the association with the EU.

The promise from the Ukrainian president, who said that the European integration would only be postponed, has not calmed the opposition. Yanukovych seems to be confuse.

Outraged Ukrainians are pissed off at the Russians

Outraged Ukrainians protest leader’s Russia overture – Outraged Ukrainians rallied in central Kiev on Saturday after President Viktor Yanukovych discussed a new strategic partnership agreement with Russia’s Vladimir Putin upon rejecting a historic EU deal. Nearly 1,000 supporters of Western integration braved swirling winds and a heavy snowfall early Saturday as they maintained control of the capital’s iconic Independence Square for the seventh successive day. Some volunteers were wrapped in blankets as they handed out breakfast from a makeshift kitchen, while others swept up garbage around a few dozen tents set up on the sprawling square. http://news.yahoo.com/outraged-ukrainians-protest-leader-39-russia-overture-080420737.html

Words of Wisdom

Life is like boxing. It is not how well we fight, but how we manage to remain standing and keep on punching to win the bout of life no matter haw hard we get hit. What I have learned over the years, is that learning to accept each other’s faults and choosing to celebrate each other’s differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people I am not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. May the peace of the Lord be with you always, Uncle Chuck

North Korea – New Horrific Secrets Revealed

A 45 minute tour of North Korea, made before the filming restrictions were lifted.

As recently as 2011, all tourism was very carefully controlled. Now, visas, travel and filming are no more restrictive than in any other free nation, due to the renewed diplomatic representations in and by 150 countries (although the USA refuses, to the sadness – and perhaps embarrassment – of many international diplomats).

With the 2012 missile launch, many people are more aware of this strange, isolated, rather unknown, nation.

This film tours the country and shows the situation at the time.
It is now even easier, however, to be a tourist there, and Visas are freely available.

As many have commented, they’re not sure why “Vice” had to arrive and film “secretly” …. when these Canadian backpackers, from their “Departures” series could even then travel and film so easily ..

FROM CHINA WITH LOVE

Southeast Asia eyes Chinese air zone expansion – Nowhere are governments keeping a closer eye on China‘s latest move to press its territorial claims (see related article) than in Southeast Asia. And nowhere are they more concerned. “China keeps upping the ante,” says Itty Abraham, who teaches international relations at the National University of Singapore. “All the countries in Southeast Asia are worried.” At the moment, China is focused on its claim to the group of East China Sea islands known here as the Diaoyu and in Japan, which controls them, as the Senkaku. http://news.yahoo.com/southeast-asia-eyes-chinese-air-zone-expansion-000009354.html

WORDS OF WISDOM

Image

A peaceful mind can think better than a worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind every day, and see, how sharply it helps you to set your life the way you expect it to be! The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind. Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from. May the peace of the Lord be with you always, Uncle Chuck
